New product launches bring with them excitement and challenges - designed for the Nordic market, this new product was presenting headaches of a different kind – to ensure the user guide was created and translated for each local market in time for crash testing.
Child safety is critical for all manufacturers of these products, and for consumers, it is usually the major factor when choosing which products to buy.
In crash test situations, each car seat is fitted into the test vehicle by the approved examiners in exactly the way the user guide demonstrates. Safety failure at this point could be for a host of reasons, including the structure of the user guide.
This organisation took a careful look at what APT had to offer and concluded that the publications and translation services offered by APT would present an ideal opportunity to improve its supply chain for this area of its business.
Ian McDonald, APT’s Publications Manager explains, “I am delighted - our delivery to this client was exactly as we outlined in the kick off meeting. We produced a user guide that ticked all the boxes - creating illustrations, designing the layout and writing the copy”.
Ian continues, “The pressure to deliver on time for each testing house was enormous. A signed off English user guide was critical for our translation team to provide the 4 languages necessary to get the green light from the assessors – we did it, and with a design that met all fitting and branding criteria!”
APT are now in discussions with this client for its 2008 roadmap, with a view to designing and translating new material.
APT Ltd specialises in translation, localisation and global content solutions, offering a valuable service to organisations needing accurate translations and good management of both their language and content requirements.
