Training and Learning Programme in 16 Languages | Operating in over 45 countries in 35 languages for more than 5,000 customers, a global training company was faced with the challenge of creating an exceptional training and learning programme in 16 languages. The localisation model had to provide a robust and proven workflow to the required standard. The training model focused on the traditional instructor-led course, but also included various web-based modules providing ongoing assessment and pre-training information. APT won the contract to provide all the localisation requirements for the project, consisting of translation work, terminology management and voice-over productions. |

| Brief- Phase I - To provide localisation services for a 16-language training and learning project, to include cultural checks and terminology management
- Phase II – To deliver effective voice-over material for all 16 languages
Solution- Agreed three-stage localisation process
- A complete end-to-end workflow was established by the APT project team prior to the project kick-off, which included numerous live online meetings with all members of the translation team
- All the translation work was carried out by mother-tongue translators with the appropriate specialist backgrounds, all living in the target countries and experienced in translation of this type of subject matter
- Secondary editing and proofreading was provided by independent specialist linguists working in their mother tongue
- All completed work was checked by the customer’s in-country review teams using an efficient on-line workflow system, enabling any changes to be incorporated quickly and accurately into both the translated content and each translation memory
- Approved translated scripts were received within the original planned deadlines, allowing the APT project team to successfully schedule all the voice-over work, ensuring terminology was presented accurately to each local market following pronunciation guidelines.
Result- Simultaneous rollout of material for each market, ensuring a common strategy across all areas of the organisation
- The successful implementation was achieved with the team members understanding the company’s model, products and objectives, thus improving the organisation’s market position.
Next Phase- Continuing translation work for new editions of the project, including an additional 10 languages over an 18-month period
