Construction Case Study

We have worked with a leading, London-based construction company for many years, providing technical material covering all aspects of design and build, in several foreign languages.

The company has four offices around the world and it is our job to support its engineering and marketing teams with accurate translations that reflect industry style and terminology, as well as the company’s philosophy.

Particular attention is paid to the style of each translation that we produce for this company and we ensure we get the right results each time by working closely with its in-country teams. In addition, the company relies on our publishing team to ensure that documents and PowerPoint presentations have the correct look and feel and that the content fits in well with the graphic work.

Our most recent project was to support the firm’s Spanish office with translation services for a bid to a major client. This required:

Spanish translation for a 125-page bid document and a PowerPoint presentation

Each translated version to written in the style required by the in-country team and suitable for publication

All formatting to be accurate and follow the source file layout

A project manager was assigned to the project, along with previously approved translators

Editors assigned for proofreading and terminology consistency

Desktop publishing team assigned, and a quality assurance workflow agreed, including two rounds of page proofing

First draft approval via portal, with amendments implemented by our editors

The translation work was delivered within the deadline

The translation quality was extremely high and we received praise from the Spanish office, not just for the work itself, but also the management and handling of preferred terminology changes

The company is now preparing further bids for its clients and their construction projects
